This class will explore the drinkware process from start to finish. We will make color tubing from rod with an overall focus on hollow work. Expect to learn both fundamental and advanced flame and lathe-working techniques. Bring your questions, and let's make some cups!

This class meets from 9am to 5pm each day, Monday through Friday, with additional studio time Monday through Thursday, from 5pm to 9pm. Materials for participating in the course are included. If you have specific colors you are interested in working with please bring them with you. 

 
Stephan Peirce is a stay at home flame worker, with 18 years of glass-blowing experience, 13 years on the lathe. He's a family man just outside of Austin, Texas, with two kids, a tolerant wife, and a backyard farm. Self taught, Stephan enjoys making functional glassware.

ARTIST'S STATEMENT

I create functional glass art that is meant to be interacted with on a daily basis. Whether drinkware or smokeware, these pieces are designed to marry form and function, and feel great in the hand. I am constantly experimenting with new processes to achieve my goals, and I love exploring tools and finding new ways to improve my craft.

- Participation limited to students 18 years of age and up.
- Lunch is available for an additional fee; $100 for 5-day workshops. 
- Classes meet 9 am to 5 pm each day. Students will have additional practice time the first four evenings of the course, Monday through Thursday, from 5 pm to 9 pm.  
- Materials for participating in the course are included. If you have specific colors you are interested in working with please bring them with you.
- Any work from the final day of the course remaining in a kiln will be available for pick up beginning the following Monday. Students may have finished worked shipped for an additional fee.
